Good morning, and happy Independence Day. Today is July 4th. And I guess I will be the bad guy today. What does today mean? Do we even know? Is it about the freedoms won, and declared as we signed the declaration of independence on this day, in 1776? To separate us from the tyrannical monarchy of England? To escape religious persecution? Sounds good to me. But before all you dear readers begin stuffing yourselves with dead animals, and drowning your brain cells in fermented grains, think of this. Think of where we are today. Are we even still a free country? Is this freedom? Have we now, 238 years later, traded one form of tyranny for another? We have recently just witnessed a supreme court allow a corporation to force its religious views on its employees. Previously declared corporations as people, and money as freedom. The working population makes up the majority of this country, living on slave-wage. Yet the few super rich swine control the majority of the money. This allows them the majority of control over the politicians, the laws, the elections, and in a long way around, all of us. A secret agency that violates all of our privacy at a whim, with no oversight, or approval. Any whistle blowers to our governments lies are treasonous, vile scum. More people in prison than anywhere else in the world. A land where making people healthy is a business venture, not a humanitarian effort. A political party who a decade ago, was hell bent on waging war, for.......something. It sure as hell wasnt freedom. It wasnt to protect us. So dont even bother with those propaganda lies. It is still costing American lives, and has generated more instability and extremism that ever existed before. The same party drug us in to a recession, and destroyed the economy. The same party that now fights tooth and nail to stop any progress, or clean up of its messes. How is this America? How do we let people live with poverty slave-wages as billionaires and corporations get massive tax breaks? Then when social programs try to simply help them not starve, we call the POOR the takers? The speaker of the house of representatives would rather commit suicide than help poor people get a better wage. What have we become? How are we not marching in the streets to demand the bullshit stop? To me, we are now the Imperial tyrannical system we declared to be independent from two centuries ago. Ruled by the filthiest of lawyers, and the greediest slave masters. The independence most will celebrate today, is just a facade. An idea waved in front of your face, so you dont see the shackles on your hands and feet. So go ahead, celebrate today. I dont mean to be a downer. But tomorrow, get involved. Get informed. Unite and rise.
