Good morning cup of coffee/tea wisdom: (Translating Matthew) Only those with an open, teachable heart, can understand the depth of all that Jesus teaches us: ¹⁰Then his disciples approached Jesus and asked, “Why do you always speak to people in these hard-to-understand parables?” ¹¹He explained, “You’ve been given a wonderful privilege. God has given you insight into the hidden truths and mysteries of heaven’s kingdom-realm, but they have not. ¹²For all who listen with an open heart will receive more and more revelation until they are filled. But if they don’t listen with an open heart, even what little understanding they seem to have will be taken from them. ¹³That’s why I teach the people using parables, because they pretend to learn, but don’t ever discover the truth. Although they will listen to me, they never perceive the message I speak. ¹⁴The prophecy of Isaiah describes them perfectly: “Although you listen carefully to everything I speak, You don’t understand a thing I say! You look and pretend to see, But the eyes of their hearts are closed! ¹⁵Their minds are dull and slow to perceive, Their ears are plugged and hard of hearing, And they have deliberately shut their eyes to the truth. Otherwise they would open their eyes to see, And open their ears their ears to hear, And open their minds to understand. Then they would turn to me And let me instantly heal them!” Matthew 13:10-15 The Passion Translation
