Good morning everyone, As many of you may have heard or seen on the news, Philippines has been devastated by typhoon Yolanda and the 7.8 earthquake. Currently, some of our family members are still missing. And although there have been many efforts from different parts of the world to get essential necessities to the philippines, I feel like I need to do something here to help with the efforts back home. So, my family and I are joining efforts with our church to send some care packages to the families affected back home. We are asking for your help and anything that you can give us, no matter how small, will be a blessing and a gift of hope to my country. We are looking to collect the following items: First aid kits Water or water filter system Easy to open canned foods (there will be no can openers avail to the people) Blankets Childrens clothes I will be collecting these items until thanksgiving break. If you have them available, you can send me a private message and we will make arrangements to pick it up. The local delivery company,LBC, are kind enough to offer their services free of charge until November 30th. We would like to send as much of these care packages as we can during this time. If monetary donations is easier for you, I will only be accepting checks until Saturday. Our church is holding a special mass on Sunday and 100% of the collections received will be donated to a parish in Tacloban city. Pls make checks out to St Barnabas church and under memo write typhoon Yolanda relief Tacloban city. If you need a receipt for tax purposes pls include a self addressed stamped envelope and a note that you are requesting a receipt sent to you. My heart is heavy and broken as I watch images of my destroyed country and the deaths amongst the rubble. But my faith is stronger than this devastation. And with this faith I will find hope in knowing that God is greater than this typhoon. In this hope my family and countrymen will find strength once again to rebuild their lives and will be comforted in their sorrow of losing their loved ones, with your help. Thank you once again. With the most sincere gratitude, The Pendillas
