Good morning everyone, God is Not Dead is the name of a movie currently playing in theaters. From what Ive read, it is about a young man whose faith is put to the test by an unbelieving professor at a university. Even if a person doesnt see the film, the provocative title makes one think. By Spirit-worked faith we know that God is not dead. Last Sunday we celebrated Christs resurrection from the grave. But theres more. Not only is God not dead, He is alive. In other words, we would never say He is dead, but do we always live as though He is living and active in our world? Do we confidently say, I have nothing to worry about, for my Savior lives to direct all things for my good? Or do we find ourselves carrying the weight of the world, wondering how we will pay the bills, make it through work, and take care of all our other obligations? Do we live in joyful peace knowing that Jesus resurrection means all our sins are gone, or do we drag our guilt around and make ourselves miserable by thinking only of the countless ways we have offended God? If we do, were living as though Jesus were still dead in the tomb. Do we see every day filled with potential to put the joy of salvation into action by serving the Lord and helping our neighbor, or do we live on auto-pilot, just doing the same old thing? Jesus lives, and by faith we live too. May we make the most of that new life!
