Good morning everyone, Im looking for a home for this wonderful full-bred cocker spaniel. Shes a rescue case that I took on, in a non-traditional manner, from Virginia Beach Animal Control. Peaches is about 7-8 years old. Full-vetted (the vet will write a case history for the person that adopts). Peaches needs a gentle hand; preferably a home with no little kids as she cannot be roughed-housed with, though she loves to play tug-of-war and ball. She was severely neglected and its suspected kicked around or something as she had (and is still recovering from) bruising to her ribs. However, her demeanor is sweet as can be after 10 weeks of owner surrender and recovery. Shes become trustful, playful and she gets along with cats. Shes eager to greet and please everyone she meets. She sits on command and now that she is feeling better shes just so very happy. I prefer to see her go to a home where someone is going to be around most of the time. This dog was probably crated most of her life or stuck in a garage. Its doubtful she was ever groomed until now. Peaches is just content to sit in the same room as you on a doggy bed with a few toys. She loves her toys! Due to some mild arthritis, she does not even attempt to jump up on furniture. As for her health: She had such a horrible ear infection (it pierced through both ear canals) that she will need to be on maintenance medication for life. Its not that expensive, but it requires ear drops every day. Its not really a big deal, but can be explained in detail. Shes a beautiful dog, with a beautiful coat. Completely potty trained. She was recently spayed, de-wormed, had all of her shots, is groomed and will be ready for adoption after her next vet appointment in two weeks. She also loves a car ride and sits nicely in the back seat. If you know of anyone (must be really kind with pets) that would be interested, please let me know.
