Matthew 6v19: Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The next thing that Christ addressees is the question of riches. The Jews were notorious for amassing riches and many of them were very wealthy. Yet they lived alongside great poverty. Christ says, invest your treasure in heaven. Because where your treasure is invested that is where your heart is set. The Lord says that his people should not have great treasures on earth but lay up treasure in heaven.
