Good morning everyone. Well it’s been a wicked weekend. I know what you are all thinking, the weather has been good… that was a fun gathering…. who the hell is this plonker, his face looks ridiculous? Well My name is Toby, Myself Rob and Josh are the three admins currently on this page. Firstly we just all wanted to say hi. There are a lot of you now, over 600 and we are super exited to get more events such as gatherings up and running. Now obviously there has been a little unrest in this community and after lots of discussions and reading all of your posts we have decided to give our 2cents on this all and let you know how we belive the group will continue to function for the foreseeable future. But before I get onto rules and decisions I think it might be helpful to discuss what this group was originally about and the intimacy of the users. This group was originally created as a means to gather people who shared a similar interest (that being Alex Day’s projects) and get them talking. The Group was created by Charli and was Alex’s idea. It was all to assemble together people who where like minded and not people who would idolise him. Since then the group has evolved to be very community driven, still having input form Alex through Charli, but certainly it did what it set out to do. Gather these likeminded people. All so we could meet up and have fun. Now over the last week various things have been posted on the internet in regards to many Youtubers, not just Alex and all of this is just gossip. It is absolutely fine to formulate opinions around these online postings and people are entitled to feel however they want (I don’t feel I should even need to say that). Ultimately peoples decisions to come and go are entirely up to them however what is posted in the group should be posted with consideration of the feelings of others in mind. Several times in the past week I have seen words posted here directed at people with the intent of hurt, undermining and getting gossip started. This kind of talk is not in standing with what makes this group a fantastic place to be. We are not the police and we are not going to censor what is being written here but we will take the time to remind people that this group was created with friendship at it’s core. When I joined this group it had nothing even to do with Alex, I joined because I had friends here and this was were they posted links. This is supposed to be a nice welcoming environment. It is important to remember there are 2 sides to every story and it is easy to put people into good guy and bad guy boxes.It is natural to want to discuss these topics and we will not censor people talking about these topics in great factual detail if they wish. If people want to know what is going on in the Youtube “news” that is also okay. Posting your opinions is fine as well however it is the general consensus that it stops becoming fine when your opinion is capable of offending another person this ranges from hurting each others feelings to slander which is a particular one that I want to talk about. We know a lot of people feel wronged and hurt and this is natural. When anyone who is a role model does something you dislike to any extent it is upsetting but if that upset turns into hatred then it is probably best to not to be put in a public domain. The possibility of your role model reading your opinion is always on the table and if that person feels bad already then reading that is the kind of thing that can cause negative outcomes in a persons psyche. As I say we are not the police and we will not censor anything you want to discuss or any opinions you have we just would like to stress again that you take into considerations everyones feelings before you do. We would also like to stress we do not to condone or support any behaviour such as that that has been mentioned in these allegations. We simply want to have out fun loving friendly group back. Please, let’s start going back to having factual discussions about these topics and not arguments. We recognise that it will be difficult for some people who have been victims of similar situations as those that presented themselves this past week to want to continue to stay in this group based on its name and what the group supposedly stands for. I would like to take this moment to say that the name is not changing. This is because the name itself is not connected to anyones personal life in fact Nerimon is not even a person any more. It is now only a word representative of some funny content we all watched pre 2014. The Nermie army is the communities word now to do with whatever we like and it is up to us to invest it with meaning. I suggest we start with reassembling what it was before this week even started which was: a group of people who met up and had a laugh and liked some internet videos. This group is NOT about the idolisation of anyone. Nor is even the name Nermie army. This group is about making friends. Indeed we share similar tastes in youtube videos and an unhealthy obsession for Nandos but this group is about making friends and having a sense of community. We want to just have our group back where we can arrange meet ups and parties and keep an eye on Youtube related events. We wish top extend our welcome to anyone joining our group of people and hope that you found our review/ take on the situation somewhat helpful and thought provoking. In writing this we are trying to be as fair as we can be to everyone involved and If you need anything please don’t hesitate to ask questions.
