Good morning, everyone and much peace to all. Sitting here creating Reading Exercises for my upcoming Fall semester classes. decided to do one about the health hazards of Coca Cola. Every damn where I go, i see people, even babies, drinking this foul substance. Began researching this topic. Now, as usual, hopping mad.....the Coca Cola company has privitised most water sources here in Mexico, making clean drinking water unaffordable. However, Coca Cola can be bought for 10 pesos for 2 liters. So, people drink Coke instead of water. Mexico is the country where people drink the most Coke, BECAuse THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO DRINK WATER..........GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! Instead of water or juice, babies and toddlers get Coke in their bottles. Hence, diabetes and other sugar excess things such as obesity, are rampant here, with a poorly organized health care system, causing a lot of illness and death........grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! Here are some phots from Chiapas, the state where the Coca Cola company has done the most harm (if that harm can even be calssified, as it is rampant all over Mexico)..... So, sorry I am not uploading the "nice" photos that peole love to look at -- the ones that idealize the state our brothers and sisters live in, whether it be as artisans, dancers, "freedom fighters", or "indigenous peoples". Nope, here is the reality for our brothers and sisters, folks....people who have been robbed of their clean drinking waters sources and are handed this toxic sludge as the alternative...... By the way, it takes 2 liters of fresh water to make one liter of the killer Coke....and a 1 liter bottle of "bottled water" (by the way, peroduced also by the Coca Cola company!) cost 10 - 14 pesos, whilst 2 liters of the sludge only costs 10 pesos.....so poor folk buy Coke, get addicted, and keep buying it..... One of my research sources states: "People, unaware of the ill effects of the soft drinks, will sell the healthy things that they grow on the land, like corn, beans and eggs from chickens to buy cola, which they eventually become addicted to”...... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
