Good morning everyone, here is your state forecast for today, Monday the 22nd of December, 2014, courtesy of the BoM. ~ Nathan =============================================== Weather Situation ----------------------- A high over the central Tasman Sea extends a strengthening ridge along the east coast of Queensland. The high will move slowly eastwards and then stall near New Zealand through the middle part of this week. A surface trough extends over the southern inland of Queensland, and will move westwards to merge with a new trough that will move from central Australia into far western Queensland on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of our Monday ---------------------------------------------- Slight to medium chance of showers and thunderstorms in the far north, far west and southern interior. Slight chance of shower along the east coast, more likely along the north tropical coast. Fine and mostly sunny in the central interior. Moderate east to southeasterly winds along much of the east coast, light to moderate northeast to northwest inland and tending southwesterly in the far southwest. Fire Danger - Very high in the Central West and Channel Country.
