Good morning, my peeps! I wrote much more than I actually - TopicsExpress

Good morning, my peeps! I wrote much more than I actually intended to do. Nevertheless I believe it is good. So read on... 8 ¶ Scorners set a city aflame, But wise men turn away anger. - Proverbs 29:8 (Regrettable description of our current society.) 18 In hope against hope he believed, in order that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, SO SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS BE. 19 And without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; 20 yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief, but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully assured that what He had promised, He was able also to perform. 22 Therefore... - Romans 4:18-22a Abraham was NOT in denial when he grew strong in faith. He fully understood his own condition as well as that of Sarah. He wasnt engaging in wishful thinking. Abraham was relying on the firm promise of God, confirmed by a blood covenant. How much more can we rely on the firm promise of God confirmed by the Blood of Christ and (as Pastor Wes pointed out yesterday), by His RESURRECTION! 16 Let us therefore DRAW NEAR WITH CONFIDENCE to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need. - Hebrews 4:16 (EMPHASIS added) 19 ¶ Since therefore, brethren, we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 LET US DRAW NEAR with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; - Hebrews 10:19-23 (EMPHASIS added) The life of Abraham (the father of the faithful) is our example. The life of Jesus is our pattern. Applying it PERSONALLY (to me): I am not in denial in any way about my cancer (or my chemo). Nevertheless, brothers and sisters, I know that WE have much to look forward to in God. I am not becoming weak in faith, but rather growing strong in faith toward the promises of God. And as I have said before, I have full confidence that whether I live or whether I die, I am the Lords. (Romans 14:8) Have a blessed day, my peeps.
