Good news. The Swedish Left Party has agreed to all our four political demands here in Sweden: • No state funds to businesses that discriminate. • Promote positive action measures against discrimination in employment on racial, ethnic and religious grounds to the same extent as in regard to gender. • Make teaching the history of racism in Sweden and Europe (including its history of racism toward Roma, people of African descent, Muslims, Asiatic Peoples and Jews) and its connections to European colonialism and nationalism a part of the national curriculum at secondary school level (high school in particular). • Prohibit and sanction ethnic profiling by law (and also define as clearly as possible the conditions under which law enforcement may exercise its powers in areas such as data collection, stop-and-search procedures, identity checks and immigrations controls).
