Good news bad news kind of day. I took the rocker arms off to put the proper restrictors in for the rocker shafts. [Which, by the way, is a piece of a cheap X-acto knife handle drilled to .090 is a perfect fit.] The good news is..... ? I found a broken push rod on the front exhaust valve. I have adjustable rockers and the push rods have a ball on one end and a cup on the other end for the rocker adjustment. Mine is shattered. I have no idea why. Sucks that its broke, great news is I found it before it caused major damage, ergo bad/ good news. No other indication of damage on any other push rod or rocker arm. No valve spring damage, inner or outer on any valve. One push rod only. No indication of how and why it broke. Anyway, here are a couple of shots so you can help me figure out what happened.
