Good news for people of Mussoorie, pertaining to increasing population of stray dogs, from the Nainital High court- The Chief Justice, on the 4th of March, has given 6 months’ time to the Government of Uttarakhand to make Animal Birth Control (ABC) Campuses across the state in EVERY Municipality and Municipal Corporation, hire vets, catchers, handlers, drivers, ambulances to conduct ABC & AR (Anti-Rabies). They have also been asked to make regular budgetary allowance for ABC in the urban development budget for the whole state and make Residents Welfare Organizations (RWO) aware about the rights of dogs. Large ABC campus (300 kennel capacity) in towns where human population is more than 1 lakh. Small ABC Campus (100 kennel capacity) in towns where human population is less than a lakh. It would be sighted as a contempt of Court after 6 months.
