Good night Kansas City! I had a great time talking about Change - TopicsExpress

Good night Kansas City! I had a great time talking about Change and the future to over 2000 of the most amazing decision makers of the community. You inspired me as well. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to share my life and vision with you. Im humbled and honored. I would not be true to myself if I did not admit that my heart has been heavy with sorrow during my stay in this great city. Only a couple of miles away, a childs life was lost to the ones that we trust to protect us. Many of our cities are in unrest tonight due to this incident. I pray that no more loss of life occurs. This has turned into more than just a color thing. This has become a power vs the people thing. When people feel ignored, invisible and abused CONFLICT IS INEVITABLE!! Im an African American man that looked down the barrel of a police officers gun 4 separate times before I turned 18yrs old. I would see my life flash before my eyes and realize that my life could end right now and I would never see the ones I love ever again. Sometimes it was for something as simple as going 15 miles over the speed limit! Many people would find this hard to believe. On the other hand, many people out there will have similar stories as mine. Those officers would always brag about how they had a license to take my life and it would be just extra paperwork for them. I dont think I deserved that treatment, but it became something I got accustom to. I still kept my faith in the 90% of officers that dedicated themselves to protecting me and serving my community. My limited knowledge of the actual #Ferguson events of that day render me helpless in the effort to take an educated stand. However, the only news images I have received has made this tragedy hard to justify. No matter what, here are the facts that will forever haunt us as a nation. -A parent should never have to bury their Child -What did he do that bad that could justify taking his life on the spot? -How can we trust the ones that we pay protect us that could potentially be our most deadliest enemy? -Why should we have to question our judicial system? Arent they supposed to be our check and Balance? I pray that the silver lining to this tragedy will be to move us closer to a judicial system that is For the people By the people. Regardless, I pray that we will heal and learn from this as a nation. I have been around the world and I am proud to say that no matter what! We might go through these tough times, but we still have it better than most! However,There will always be room for improvement. In closing, my prayers go out to the Brown Family tonight as they are forced to re live the tragedy that will never allow them to hug, kiss and see there Baby boy again on the eve of the day that we are supposed to give thanks for family, Life and friendship.
