Good to visit the Chippenham Royal Mail Delivery Office this morning. I was very impressed by their efficiency and enthusiasm at their busiest time of year. It was wonderful to hear that this large employer hires mainly local employees, has an excellent staff retention rate and progression programme. In fact met numerous Managers and senior employees who have worked their way up from the bottom. At this time of year we owe a great deal of gratitude to Royal Mail staff who work hard to ensure our Christmas cards and gifts get delivered on time. So it was nice to have the opportunity to pop in, see them in action and say thank you.
