Gori Tere Pyaar Mein - Review. Well I finally watched a movie on the first day of release after a long time and it feels good. Most of you can be forgiven if you thought that this was just going to be another senseless Rom Com made by Dharma Productions. But brace yourself as you are in for a Pleasant surprise. This movie has a heart of gold and even though the story is a Rom Com somehow it manages to define the genre. Imran Khan has finally come into his own and it feels like he has made this genre his own. His character has great charm and his comic timing is impeccable. Kareena too return to her chirpy bubbly idealistic best after Jab We Met something which was lacking for a long time. All the other actors play their part well and even Shraddha Kapoor is pretty good in her cameo. This is director Punit Malhotras second movie after I hate Luv Storys and he has done a very good job and has certainly come off age. The music is decent and Dhat teri ki main, Dil Duffer and Chingam Chabake stand out. The only problem that i had was that the color scheme of the movie appears pretty dull and gives each frame a very Sepia-ish tone. But that does not take anything away from this joy ride which is GORI. After the debacle of Ram Leela this movie is a welcome respite and is a fun clean warm entertainer which will provide laughs inside the theatre and give you a good satisfied feeling once you leave it. I definitely recommend that you go see it with your loved once and have a good time. 3.5/5
