Gorjon had a game today with Prio Bangla Panthers. Firstly, had is a crucial word. The game started with great sportsmanship. Panthers won the toss and elected to bat. From the onset, Gorjon players and bowlers were on point. Immaculate line and length. Efty, Fayez, Babu, Majnu, Murad, Kabir all performed. Panthers were bundled up for a mere 67 runs in 15 overs. A test match field was applied throughout the game restricting every movement of the Panthers. Gorjon superstars bowled out of their skills. If some catches were not dropped and wides not conceded, their total should have been restricted to under 50. A great bowling performance. Ex-Prio Bangla player Kabir was treated with great hositility when he came to bowl. Personal attacking remarks were being made to him. A small complaint was sent via the umpire and Shibly bhai (leg umpire) Yet, Kabir showed his value and strength by getting his wickets to completely shut any more remarks. After being bundled out for a mere 67 runs, Gorjon was all set to bat when accordingly to laws were required to bring a Sword ball to provide for the game. Being unaware of the entire procedure, and assuming that a ball can be bought at the field, game was set to resume and chase a tiny total of 68 in 20 overs. there was no balls present at the field, and as a result Gorjon were set to provide an even better ball for them to bowl with. Amit said this is going to be advantage for us bowling with this ball, but it will be unfair to Gorjon Gorjon was still OK with the ball. Then the politics arrived and Prio Bangla refused to play without a Sword Ball. Organizers had said cut 5 overs from Gorjon and let them chase in 15 overs. Even after that when they did not agree, committee asked to cut it to 13 overs for Gorjon to chase that amount. Yet they refused. Shibly bhai said I am sorry, but I am an asshole and i want the points. After this Gorjon had no more comments and had to step down from the game. A very unfortunate series of events that lead to unsportsmanship like behavior. Gorjon players were ready to make this game even more difficult by chasing the target with less overs. Sadly, no one agreed and all the players that come from such large distance and sacrifice their valuable time and work hours had to go home without even getting to face one ball. A sad day in the history of Bengali Cricket were a game was lost being bundled out for 67 then not being able to bat with extremely good weather conditions. Prio Bangla Panthers has shown their desire to win without fighting for it. Maybe that is the way they decide to play or really want to win this cup, but unfortunately it said a lot about their character. A shutout to all the players who bowled their hearts out.
