Remember, Remember, the fifth of November! Just to prove I am - TopicsExpress

Remember, Remember, the fifth of November! Just to prove I am not mindlessly quoting Allen More... The fifth of november commemorates the failed assassination attempt by Guy Fawks and the Gunpowder Plot organization on King James the 1st in 1605. The holiday was first used to celebrate King James survival and the introduction of the Observance of 5th November Act. Although, the holiday went from being called Gunpowder Treason Day to Guy Fawks day, and the meaning of the holiday has switched from celebrating King James survival and the introduction of the Observance act to the exact opposite, the remembrance of that noble rebellion Guy Fawks... Something Allen more had nothing to do with I am sure.... But considering the times, I think it is a fitting time to celebrate a little bit of a peoples rebellion...
