Gospel(6) RELEVANCE OF THE ANOINTING TO YOUR VISION October 2013 Bible Text: Acts 2: 22 | Acts 2: 22 says Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: from this anchor scripture, we can see clearly that eight years of this ministry is a sign of God’s approval that he called me. This is our season of remembrance and the vision of this ministry shall not die. Last Sunday NOV 4 is exactly the 8th year when this ministry, Good Tidings Bible Church International was born. Contrary to the enemy’s plan, God in his infinite mercy has given this ministry a vision which is alive and fulfilling purpose. A definition of vision, is understanding why you are born. Your vision is not your job, as many erroneously think. Your job is not your calling; it is a platform to make your calling work. When you understand why you are born, then you will receive the anointing to fulfill it. The anointing is not the oil or the holy bottle but a spiritual consecration. A calling without the anointing will end in frustration because any one that is called by God into any ministry will receive the anointing to fulfill the calling of the ministry. Likewise a vision without empowerment is futile because a vision will remain an idea until it receives the power to transform into something that will make you fulfill purpose. When you know your purpose, you have a vision and when you are anointed your vision will be fulfilled and for your vision to be complete, you need a hand upon your head like in Acts 10:38 God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. For you to receive the anointing for your vision ask God. Jeremiah 33:3 says: “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” When you pray, God reveals something locked in your heart that is your assignment. So when God anoints you, one of the things you are born to do is to solve a problem. Jesus was anointed in order for him to remove thorns and thistles otherwise he would not have been able to destroy the works of the devil. In the Bible, I also noted that no king reigned without the anointing to preserve and keep the throne (1 Samuel 16:1). God’s anointing brings you into a position that someone was occupying. David never prayed to become King, Saul’s disobedience made David to become king. Secondly God’s anoint will open a new chapter in your life. David’s anointing was the opening of David’s chapter that closed Saul’s Chapter. Therefore your past is in the order of Saul and your future is the order of David who was anointed. Also, the anointing destroys every york. A york is a piece of wood that is put on two cattle to compel them to farm (Isaiah 10:29). It means that the enemy has put in you and another’s neck the burden to labour for another to benefit. So you constantly need anointing for you to destroy every york. It takes the anointing to destroy burden that will never be traced again. David was anointed three times before he entered the throne. More so, the oil upon your head must always be fresh. Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment (Ecclesiastes (9:8). Thus by receiving fresh anointing every york around your life is destroyed. When the anointing comes upon you as evident in the life of David, a season of overflow begins for you. In Psalms 23:5 Davis said that Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anoints my head with oil; my cup runs over. God allows overflow of your cup to let you know that he is inexhaustible. Lastly, the anointing prevents every evil from working against you. Because “ He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm (Psalms 105:14-15). However, you must be mindful that there are vision killers. These Killers are referred to as Agents of death of a vision. Having realized that everybody is born to be special, you must ensure you pursue your vision. So what are the things that kill a vision? Sickness and death: they are the twin agents of killing a vision. Moses was born to be the one God will use to save the children of Israel from the Egyptians but when he was born, the devil, had an idea of God’s plan but did not have the details so Pharaoh decreed that every child born within the period of Moses birth should be killed and God allowed Moses to escape the death decree and he was raised until he fulfilled God’s plan. Similarly Joseph escaped the death of his vision when his brothers planned to kill because of his vision but sold him to become a slave in Egypt and thereafter his vision was fulfilled. Therefore if God is on your side, sickness and death cannot stop you. “…If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee and Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed” (Exodus 15: 26 and 1 Peter 2: 24). Demonic activity: Demons are the devil agents that are used against against individuals, people, families, career, nations and business but if God be for you, no demon can work against you. Every day we are interacting with demons and angels but in the house of God demons are not allowed, “… ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels (Hebrew 12:22). I also find in Psalms 24: 7-10 that demons are incapacitated when God enters a place because evil forces obey him. A typical example of someone who carried God’s presence is Job and he could not be touched by Satan until God gave Satan the permission. Even when God allowed Satan to attack Job, he was still restricted because he could not touch Job’s soul (Job 1:10-12). Envious people: This group of people will go to any length to kill your vision. Joseph’s vision killers were his brothers and they were described as the patriarchs who were moved with envy because of his dream and sold him into Egypt: but God was with him (Acts 7:9). Sometime you wonder why people are jealous of you in spite of the fact they are ahead of you. Well the reason is that they have seen that you will become great and even overtake them in the future.
