Gospel Music Heritage Month. In the State of Wisconsin there was musical force that also helped to take gospel choir music to the forefront was Cleopra Moore and The Wisconsin Community Choir. A career blossomed out of that aggregation of singers and musicians. A Jeffrey LaValley heard playing the Hammon went of to be a Musical Genius composing song such as If You Confess The Lord. ...Call Him Up and many many more. A Grammy Winner among so many other awards, a sought after producer/ workshop clinicians. LaValley was asked to compose a song for The Pope durring a United States visit. Working for several years with the legendary Tramaine Hawkins and The one and only Mynra Summers of the Refreshing Springs C.O.G.I.C giving us hits like My Soul Says Yes and others. Currently serving as the Minister of Music at the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist, Flint, Michigan for almost 4 decades. Where hes been part of a team that led The New Jerusalem Inspirational Voices to Grammy Winning success. Bishop Odis Floyd, Brenda Floyd, Jay W Callahan, Keith Champion, Bruce Strange, Charles Johnson, Kenneth Mitchner, Curtis Hayes, Anthony Floyd, Denise Jamerson helped to make up that team.....they helped to make history.
