Got back late last night. Here are a few of my favorite things at the WH Makers Fair: 3D printing of organs and DNA from scans, assorted robots running around the WH halls, shoe soles that will charge your cellphone while you walk. The hit of the show was a 14 ft robotic giraffe named Russel. While these are fun, the growth of affordable high tech tools growing local companies is serious business. We are working to coordinate Oakland efforts and to make sure these tools reach our schools and all communities.
