Got off work to learn my missionary colleague, Dan Cecil, has passed from this earth into the presence of his blessed Savior. Please pray for his sons, Adam Cecil, Aaron Cecil, Asa Cecil, and Andy Cecil, during this time of grief. We grieve, but not in the same way as those who have no hope 1 Thessalonians 4:13. We are allowed to mourn. But, because of the hope that we have, which goes beyond the grave we don’t go about it in the same way as those who believe that death is the final end for us all. I treasure the time Dan and I spent working together in Davao City, Philippines. Lots of laughter, sorrow, and sharing the love of Christ with everyone we met. His passing was not unexpected. He had suffered much in the past couple of years. But I am reminded of a verse in Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
