Got this an hour ago but just woke up.. Sorry all! Update on Aiden: He is still showing slight improvements.. baby steps! They started him on lasix yesterday, which is a diuretic to help him dump some of the fluid he is retaining. He is really swollen and his lungs were filling fast so the lasix helps to reverse that. It worked great because his lung xrays this morning looked about 40% better than yesterday, thank you Jesus!! They successfully weaned him off of the dopamine (which keeps his heart rate and blood pressure stabilized since he cant do it on his own) and his vitals stayed stable for about 5 hours thru the night, but this morning his fever is spiking again which causes his vitals to be unstable, so they are starting the dopamine again. His redness looks a little darker today.. was lighter yesterday.. and it has spread almost halfway down his left leg. So, all in all, I would consider it progress. He is starting to somewhat stabilize on his own. He has also been trying to open his eyes and wake up since about midnight last night.. when he hears my voice he starts fluttering his eyes and trying very hard to open them.. but we do NOT want him to wake up yet.. he is still in too much pain to be awake. As sedated as he is, he will still grimmace and flinch and even have tears run down his face when they touch the back of his left shoulder, which they do often in order to move him and clean him up and change his bed. For the first time since we have been here they increased the meds that keep him sedated.. he seems to be building a resistance since he is trying to open his eyes so much. So thats where we are this morning. Keep those prayers coming.. they are so very important and appreciated!
