The Federal Government’s infrastructure budget is set to stretch further than expected, with construction companies offering discounts in order to secure long-term project work. Infrastructure minister Warren Truss says the wind-down of the Australian mining boom has left many businesses to fight over the smaller number of government projects being tendered.
