Govt committed to create ample employment opportunities: Dy CM JAMMU, JULY 7 - Reiterating the commitment of the government to create more and more job opportunities for the educated unemployed youth, Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand on Sunday said that the process for fast track recruitment against thousands of vacancies advertised in various departments have been already set in. Addressing a mammoth gathering here at his home constituency, Khour, Deputy Chief Minister said that besides initiating recruitment against vacancies in government departments, the state government, with due support of the centre, has also initiated series of programmes to promote self employment and develop the skills of youth in employment potential trades. “The employment schemes like UDAAN, and SKEWPY have started to produce results as thousands of youth have come forward to take benefit of skill development and entrepreneurship programmes being offered under these schemes”, he said adding that the government was also keen to fill the vacancies in all government departments. He also made a mention about hundreds of vacancies advertised for each district in school education department. Listing the achievements of the government on the development front, he said that the bad pockets were receiving special attention of the government and these are getting all basic amenities at par with the urban areas. He said that the state was marching fast on the path of development and prosperity and hailed the cooperation extended by the people in achieving set targets on the development front. He said that the unprecedented development witnessed during past years have become possible due to the liberal funding being provided by the UPA government. Referring to Rs 710 Crore package announced by Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, during his recent visit to state, Tara Chand said that the funds would further accelerate the road connectivity programme launched in the state to connect remote and far flung areas. However, he cautioned the people against the forces who are hell bent to divide the people on communal, regional and other lines. He appealed the people to strengthen the secular forces for restoration of lasting peace and development of the state. Earlier, the Dy CM also inspected various ongoing works in the area and also listened to the demands of the people of adjoining areas.
