Govt. has to face public wrath if it stops Int’l aid: Shabir Shah Srinagar, Sep 30: Expressing strong resentment over government of India’s declining of international aid to flood-hit Kashmir, Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah said that Modi-led government is resorting to political vengeance vis-à-vis policy on Kashmir. “If Uri can get relief in lakhs for earthquake andLadakh forcloudburst, why there are debates going on regarding the inadequate relief to be given to Kashmiris. The recent floods caused such a great loss to business sector of Kashmir that it can only be met with international aid,” Shah said. During his 22-day relief tour, Shah visited Srinagar City, Islamabad, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Budgma, Baramulla and some flood-hit areas of Kupwara. He said we are extremely thankful and proud of our brave youth who proved to be the messiahs during the floods. Shah while criticizing government’s unsympathetic attitude towards flood victims including the business sector said if government will not allow international aid to Kashmir, they will have to face the wrath of people. He reiterated his appeal to people to celebrate the Eid with simplicity and austerity and to help those in need. Meanwhile, Shabir Ahmad Shah today visited Baramulla where he expressed sympathy with the family of noted social worker and educationist Haji GhulamQuadir on his sad demise. On the occasion, Shah met GhulamQuadir’s younger brother Advocate Abdul Salam Rather and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family. Shah also visited Hyderpora and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family of Islamic Study Circle scholar Engineer GhulamQuadirSofi on the latter’s demise.
