Grace Foods Issues Recall of One Batch of Grace Chicken Vienna Sausages in JAMAICA GraceKennedy Limited has announced the recall of a batch of its Grace Chicken Vienna sausages produced at its Grace Food Processors Division in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland. The recall affects the 140 gram, easy open metal containers, marked with lot # 14041510G CH 26. Consumers who have purchased the product are being advised to check for the lot number which is stamped in black on the bottom of the can. Persons in possession of these products are advised not to consume products with this batch number and return same to point of purchase, where the full cost will be refunded. Mr. Michael Ranglin, CEO of Grace Foods stated that “Through routine internal checks the company identified irregularities with the product, manifested in the swelling of some cans. We have therefore decided to recall the specific batch mentioned. We are also taking all necessary steps to address the irregularities through further tests, and this batch of the product is being removed from the market to protect our consumers.” He explained that this batch of the product can cause adverse health consequences. GraceKennedy wishes to assure all consumers that their safety is paramount, and that this recall does not affect any other Grace Vienna sausage products. “Providing safe, high quality products to our consumers remains our number one priority,” said Mr. Ranglin.
