Gracious Father in heaven, we do not know when You will call us home...for in the middle of life we are in death. Regardless of the number of our days on earth, cause us always to be prepared to answer Your summons. Lord, we know that the road of our lives lead finally to Your heavenly mansions above. Equip us for the trials and pitfalls that beset our way through life, and teach us to perform in Your holy name each duty that confronts us. Remind us daily that we are pilgrims without a home here, and help us to assist our fellow travelers by sharing their burdens and showing them the glory of the life in You. Lord, whether our pathway leads to hilltops fair and high or through the sunless valleys where the shadows lie, it does not matter, for we know that You are with us and that underneath are Your everlasting arms. Where You leads us we shall gladly go. Oh, guide us unerringly on lifes uncertain way here to our heavenly homeland there. In Jesus Amen.
