Grambo update with Annette MacPherson. Today is Sunday March 23, 2014 Well mom slept again really good last night. Matter of fact shes too sleepy now. They havent changed any of her meds so cant be a side effect of that. A vampire came in and sucked out some more blood early this morning. White cell count results came back at 19.5 which is up significantly from the other day when they took her off all the antibiotics that were making her so sick. Remember Dr Girgawy told me last week that she came in with a high WBC count and that her PCP from home health told him that this had been going on for a bout 1 year. She had been treated a couple of times throughout the year for urinary tract infections because she wont take in enough fluid. I have to push it on her all the time. Well she is now too sick to push physical therapy on huh? I just told them I want to speak to Dr Girgawy and transfer her back to the hospital, put in a central line, and treat her for the infection. If they want a bone marrow sample they can knock her out and do it. When we first came here I told them she had been complaining of her right leg hurting and it had been giving out on her. They did an xray of her leg and a bone scan of her whole body? Said everything looked good except for her back which Dr. Dang worked on twice. What Im asking now is if she came in with a high WBC count is it customary to jump right In and do surgery first? They did put her on IV antibiotics at that time but ever since they transferred her to rehab shes been getting worse. Ya think it was too soon huh? Anyways waiting for an Indian or Chief to come in to give me the ok I agree with you prognosis to transfer her back to treat the infection intravenously. No more therapeutic production out of the patient today! Wonder if theyre gonna try to say we can treat her over here. Remember Dr. Dang did a minor surgery over here to her back last week right in her rehab bed when he drew fluid from her back with a big ass needle under ultrasound supervision. I guess thats standard practice. Her back has been hurting even more since then. At this point in time they have to make this right. If I transfer her to another hospital now she will be going through more of their own tests, xrays, scans, and blood sucking, dont think shed like that let alone survive it? Please keep her in your prayers that she will get better soon and stop hurting so much. After all--she is Grambo!!!-) will update again later this evening.
