Grammar is everything online. If your picture reveals how you dress and present your physical body to the world, then grammar is how you dress and present your mind to the world; all of that matters when it comes to how people perceive, react to, and interact with you. Thats like the difference between me going to a business meeting, wearing either a nice clean suit or sagging pants with ketchup stains from a sloppy burger that I just didnt care to use a napkin for. Which style of dress is going to get me taken more seriously during a negotiation? Its a sad fact that people judge a book by its cover, but it is nonetheless true. The good thing though, is that after a while, like any habit, good grammar becomes an effortless venture over time with practice and self-discipline. You dont have to be a genius to speak or write eloquently; you just have to care about the power that words can have over other peoples minds. A single sentence, nay a single word, can make or break a relationship, win or lose a court case, start or end a war, etc. The way we use language, in both verbal and nonverbal transmission, in both denotation and connotation, is everything; the way we use language shapes our reality, what is or isnt possible for us, and as a consequence: the world, since we are citizens of it.
