Great Course Upcoming This Winter! :PHIL481/ENGL395.002 Critical Race Theory in Law and Literature, Dr. Andre Carrington, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9:00-9:50am • This course deals with works from the era of the Civil Rights Movement to the present in which scholars and activists have criticized longstanding conventions of social thought about race and racism. By reading legal, philosophical, scientific, and literary texts, we will explore the ways in which race thinking shapes American identities and institutions. Among the authors whose work we will study in the course are Richard Wright, Patricia Williams, Charles Mills, and Adrian Piper. ENGL395 requires ENGL103 or an A in ENGL102.
