Great First Night for the NEWBIES! Yesterdays big rescue of EIGHT death-row dogs was harrowing and exhausting for our great staff! But as usual, even not knowing until literally the last minute WHO and how MANY could be saved with donations by supporters- our caring, life-saving staff made it work! And the result? All the last minute scramble of building new kennels and pairing up lovable dogs- such as recently neutered Connies Dude, a yellow Labby, and recently spayed Freya, our Dutch Shepherd mommy- ended up with everyone sleeping soundly and happily through the night. For our recently rescued dogs, it was great to have new roommates with whom to snuggle. And for the newly rescued dogs, it was challenging to have yet another shelter environment after losing their homes. But that was hugely mitigated by having the SAME kennel buddies they had on Death-row, come with them to now have the love, safety and fun of Animal Village NM. And theyll be safe here for as long as it takes to find COMMITTED guardians, this time around. Thanks to ALL who donate to our 501c3 non-profit, No-Kill shelter.
