Great idea. But adding back-to-backs to pay for it is dumb. Just add a week to the season. I was wondering what else can be done to give a little more rest during the season here and there. What about taking a page from baseball and doing homestand series of two or three games length? If both teams are not traveling between back-to-back or three-in-four-nights stretches, that would save some amount of aggregate wear and tear on the league while still stuffing in games, right? Would it be interesting as a fan to see the same matchup two or three times in a row in short order?
