Great idea! Once when our son was walking home from the school bus stop in NH, on our very rural road, a neighbor stopped and asked him if he wanted a ride home as it was cold and snowy. Our son just didnt recognize him as we didnt see him very often (especially in the winter), and so he just ran through the woods to our house. The neighbor called me later and told me he hoped he didnt scare him....well, yes, but we both agreed he did the right thing by just taking off running home....with a good head start just in case. ;)
