Great kiddo...clearly great up bringing! Madre Hill Rule...mmmm - TopicsExpress

Great kiddo...clearly great up bringing! Madre Hill Rule...mmmm stupid! If we apply the Madre Hill Rule in football should we apply them to the arts or even academics? If we put a cap on our children we may put a cap on their dreams, outlook on life and send a mixed message to everyone that its ok to settle for mediocrity. This is in no way shape or form good in any way. If we cap the world we would have no Einsteins, no Michaeangelos, no Beethovens, no Henry Fords, no Steve Jobs, no Abraham Lincolns, no Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, no Jackie Robinson, no Jesse Owens, no Vince Lambardis, etc, etc... Being a stand out in a positive way does not make you bad...so lets not confine people putting their performance and outlook in jail so to speak. Being a positive person that does great things with the talents as this child has is powerful for many different reasons. This is and can be inspiring, up lifting to many around him young and old. But if we the people cap him, dim the light on him how can he or the other iconic greats I mentioned possibly ever inspire a part of the world or the whole world? The physical is just equally as is important as the mental in everyones life especially to a childs psychological outlook if they are in sports. Sports can be very powerful and positive for the world. Bruce Lee was inspired by many athletes like Mohammad Ali and others before him...he worked to be like them in the midst of it found himself fighting for more than just him...but for the equality of the Asian and other minority people in racial times in Hollywood and every where else. He fought for a cause larger than himself is when he started to become an icon. Thats what drove him to go to the next level to be great in martial arts and film...he was actually an activist. Bruce Lee could not have done this with out the physical part, the sport part of his life. He used it to break down barriers and change the scope of the worlds outlook. Many did this Jackie Robinson did too. Those who dont think sports is that important in our lives and our history are the same ones that are in denial of what our great athletes did for this country and the world to make it a better place. They also have the comfort today by benefitting from what athletes have done for us. To this unbelievable young man and his parents, please move to another school district so you can shine and inspire your God given talent. Let no one hold you back...something tells me this is not His will. As my father use to say keep on truckin young man!
