Great news folks. I may have retired, but The Aussie Alternative - TopicsExpress

Great news folks. I may have retired, but The Aussie Alternative will LIVE ON, and prosper! Please make very welcome the, not one, but two people who are taking over running of TAA from now on, Ash Loveday and Michelle McMillan. I had a two hour meeting with these two on the weekend, where we discussed many issues related to TAA and the local music scene in general, and I could not be happier with the choice of people to take over running of my baby. They are both very well connected in the industry, young (unlike myself!) and enthusiastic and have some fantastic ideas as to how to take TAA forward. And, most importantly, they are MASSIVE fans and supporters of the local scene. Plus, being two people as opposed to one steering the ship, they will be able to double the amount of time and effort put into pushing TAA forward and getting our excellent bands out there into the world. Tim, Kev and Stu will remain a massive part of TAA as well, plus TAAs most excellent partnership with Michael and all the gang from neueregelradio over there in New Jersey will continue, so thats all fantastic news as well! Plus of course, we continue with Gareth and the mighty Australian Musicians Radio! For myself, well, after chatting to Ash and Michelle, Ive actually decided to stick around, albeit in a much diminished capacity. I will probably just bob up now and then to make a small contribution, probably in the form of album and live reviews of some local artists, guest spots on the radio show, guest interviews and stuff like that. So you havent gotten rid of me completely! (Too bad, I hear you all say....) Ash and Michelle plan to get the radio show up and running again in the next few weeks, after this brief hiatus weve had. They will be booking new TAA Presents live shows and of course keeping you all updated on the Facebook. I think this is the most excellent news possible folks, and Im confident that these two will pick the ball up, run the length of the field and kick multiple goals with TAA. (sorry about the footballing analogy, but hey, it IS finals time!) So, again, please make them very welcome, and spread the word that The Aussie Alternative lives on! Cheers, Rod
