Great post this morning from fanHC (Horizon Christian fan) on the Oregon Live forum: On a side note, my heart goes out to Amity. They trailed PAA the entire game but willed themselves to come from behind with a terrific 12-4 final quarter to take a 2 pt lead in the last minute of the game. The Warriors fought hard but couldn’t come up with a rebound in PAA’s last possession, fouling PAA’s Torkelson who made the shot and converted the FT to take a one pt lead with 3.3 seconds remaining. Amity’s desperation shot at the buzzer fell short and with it their title hopes. That’s tough, especially for seniors Wilson, Hale, Hilt, and Ojua. But take heart guys, you were the core who led a resurgence in basketball at Amity, a school rich in athletic history but which hasn’t been to the tournament in more than a decade (and never under the new reclassification). With the returning talent I think Coach Amaya and his feared 1-3-1 trap will be a regular participant in the foreseeable future. You had a lot to do with that. And dont forget, you have two more games to play to win the consolation side of the bracket. Make the WVL proud and gettr done.
