Greetings, You are cordially invited to a very special Martial Arts event in Old Torrance Tuesday evening March 18th, 2014. If you find that you WILL be in attendance, please RSVP ASAP so we can properly prepare for your attendance. I am so proud and pleased to announce that on Tuesday, March 18th, 2014, I will have the privilege of testing fifteen Shoreiha Dojo karate students. Among them are two, selected for Sho Dan (full) black belt test. Some of these students have been training diligently for more than ten years! Another one will be testing for Ni Dan (2nd degree black belt). This is an awesome opportunity to see what is expected and required to achieve the coveted grade of black belt in Okinawan Goju karatedo as well as to make some karate friends. Karate and judo have a long history of friendship going way back to the first Kodokan. Karate/judo friendships are so easy as there is not even friendly competition, and we are always on our best behavior when other forms of budo are represented in the room as well. A selected group of sensei from other styles of budo will be at the black belt panel table. They may introduce themselves and share some words of wisdom as well as comment on the efforts of the students after the test.
