Greetings and salutations! Momma update: Sometimes it is easy - TopicsExpress

Greetings and salutations! Momma update: Sometimes it is easy to be overwhelmed with what is happening in your life. In the midst of concerns and cares I was already handling I had received news that my cousin is having health issues followed by a good friend having a health episode as well. What the Lord put on my heart is that He is not overwhelmed by these things. He is capable in handling ALL of the things we carry on a daily basis. The Lord then brought me to the Book of Isaiah chapter 40. It talks about the coming of Jesus Christ and to proclaim without fear who the Lord is. We can proclaim because He will demonstrate who He is. He has done this to all of humanity by Christ dying so we can have life but it is in the last few verses that spoke the loudest to me. Isaiah 40:28-31 ESV Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. He remains strong when the strongest grows weary. He does not become overwhelmed. We are overwhelmed by His kindness demonstrated through His omnipotence. We will wait on the Lord and through that we will be at peace, strong, and full of life. The doctors are certain that while the stents in my mothers stomach to plug the hole is doing a decent job, however they are still picking up fluid out of that hole through a drain they put in awhile ago. There are intestinal enzymes in that fluid and even bile. The last dye test they did they found that things were not flowing well from the stomach to the intestines. They feel there is an obstruction of some sort that is causing things to back up into her stomach and overwhelming the stents. That explains why they are reading intestinal enzymes and bile, two things that should not be in the stomach. Their solution is to open her up...again. This time they will deal with the obstruction and try to move things around in there so that she can start eating as soon as possible. They have talked about removing the damaged portion of the stomach and use the undamaged portion as a pouch, a little stomach, that will act like a gastric bypass. This will be a major surgery. This hole in her stomach and the resulting infection really messed up everything. They will do another dye test on Monday to determine if anything has changed. I have a preference in how I want the Lord to answer my prayers and yours. But we wait on the Lord. He is capable and not only does He not grow weary but He gives strength to us who are weary. We proclaim He is good! He does not forsake His children, but He demonstrated His love and faithfulness to us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us. I put my cousin, my friend, my mom, and my life in Gods hands. It is essentially no different than the choice I made a long time ago to trust and follow Jesus. I fail at times, but He gives me strength when I trust and wait for Him. To God be the glory! My name is Jeff
