Griffes, John “Johnny” Leo Fremont Johnny Griffes, age 42, of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 22, 2014, in California. Johnny was born on November 22, 1972, in Fremont to John and Linda Griffes and was a Service Technician Specialist for Castrol Lubecon. Johnny’s life was all about his family and love for music. He was a local musician, playing in the group “Dangerous Age” and then singing lead in the band “Molly”. In his spare time Johnny repaired and re-manufactured amplifiers and stage equipment. Johnny enjoyed spending time with his family and picking on his sisters. Johnny is survived by his children, Curtis and Emma of California; father John (Marcy) Griffes of Fremont; mother, Linda Griffes of Jacksonville, Florida; brothers and sisters, Toag Allen Seamen of Fremont, Linette (Tim) Kruszynski of Twin Lake, Carmen (Matt) Haley of Jacksonville, Florida, Mishele (Scott) Witte of Fremont, Kim (Bruce) Roberson of Hesperia, Gayle (Ryan) McGahan of Hesperia, and Liz (Matt) Powers of Fremont; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. There will be a Celebration of Life for Johnny at 2 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with Pastor Chadwick Walenga officiating. There will be a visitation and time to visit with the family starting at 11 AM on Sunday prior to the service. Following the service, friends are asked to join the family at the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555 for a time of refreshment. Instead of flowers, friends are encouraged to contribute to an educational fund for Curtis and Emma c/o Crandell Funeral Home. Friends may share memories and condolences online at crandellfh.
