Grip with manouverability on an MT5? Solved. For todays session on the Series IV, I got the chance to try the ONeill 2mm rubber vest I received this week. Sometime back MT had mentioned that he used neoprene (modern day rubber) wetsuits, rather than the usual nylon ones, as they provide plenty of grip whilst allowing plenty of opportunity to shift around on the mat as required. Well he is right on the money as wearing the new vest today provided me with exactly that on an unwaxed (apart from a little bit on the corners of the mat for a bit of hip grip) MT5. After todays session though I think I could probably have got away with out that little bit of wax too. I had the best session so far on this new mat as I become more acquainted with it. The final change I am going to make is to go back to using DuckFeet rather than UDT fins as I believe the weight of them is causing some trim issues that I am pretty sure the smaller fins will resolve.
