Group Input Needed: The monster rears its head: I have been having great difficulty the past three weeks with my 14 year old daughter. from bashing mom to not listening to rules to this regarding her own safety. this morning I was awakened at 430 with her standing over the top of me looking at me as I slept. of course instant fear took over as flashbacks came back to me, but in a split second she started crying and telling me she was depressed. we spoke for a few hours and decided to take her to her crisis worker. long story short it was discovered that over the past few visits at her fathers house the monster show its face for the first time since being with the new girlfriend. my daughter and 15 year old son said he started yelling and it was your anger. A girlfriend that frozen on the couch not sure what had just happened. unfortunately it brought back PTSD for my daughter and scared her to death..... so everything I have been going through with her the past 3 weeks is a result of the memories that happen at his house. my question to everyone is am I in the wrong if I made the suggestion with her crisis counselor that maybe she take a few week break from visiting and regroup herself mentally? I understand this may be against the visitation order however the crisis worker agreed that she needs to learn to care for her mental health before working about dad being angry over visitation....... this incident is exactly what I have been trying to protect my children from happening. my biggest fear is one day she will not come to me about it and I will lose her from self harm
