Growing up and having an amazing relationship with my father, Ive learned to differentiate a gentleman from a jerk. Ive learned to hold myself to higher standards, I was never easily persuaded by guys nor was I ever emotionally moved by any of them. Having that close relationship and bond with my father made me develop critical thinking skills and a realistic perspective on life from an early age. I learned to respect and honor myself and not let anyone else decide how much respect I should receive. I learned that the mistakes I will make in life were a product of my own choices, and that the blame was to go to nobody else but me. I’ve learned to make rational decisions no matter how emotional of a creature Allah has created me out to be. And Above all, I learned that my father is my King, he raised me like royalty, and to be with someone who was anything less than of noble character was not worth it. Thank you Abbu, you taught me well and it will forever influence who I choose as a spouse, a father to my children, and the one who I choose to accompany me for the rest of my life.
