Guess what time it is? GUESS WHAT TIME IT IS? It is time for SPC Squirrel to do burpees while I give the safety brief for the weekend. As always, remember rule number 1, dont do nothing dumb. Before you do something, ask yourself one question. Will Sgt Gopher PT me to death when he finds out I did this? If the answer is yes, then it is something dumb. Dont do it. Now, on to the specifics. I know that this weekend is the North Country Irish Fest at the State Office building, but I looked at the platoon roster and we do not have a single OMallory, OReilly, OShane, Flannigan, or any Irish name. In fact, the ONLY O that is on the roster, is our illustrious O-1 platoon leader, and he appears to have gotten lost going from the office to the formation area. Furtermore, as he has never shown up for a formation, he does not count. WHEN you go to the state office building, conduct yourself in a professional manner, and be smart. Remember that just because St Patrick drove snakes from Ireland, you do NOT have the right to act like a jackass in public. Fighting, another great Irish stereotype. See my earlier comment about St Patrick for my thoughts on this one. Unless you are sitting at the house and watching sports or you have a designated driver, drinking and just about any activity is probably a bad idea... Next, just because Colorado and Washington have decriminalized pot, it doesnt make it ok in the military. Remember, we are on a federal military installation, and we have different rules. Light one up, and Ill smoke your career. Also, the weather is getting warmer, and the ice is getting thinner. Do not go out on the ice, especially if there is snow on it. Snow acts like a blanket and keeps the heat trapped, making the ice thinner and more likely to break up when you walk on it. Last thing. No means no. Maybe means no. Yes means maybe, and I expect all of you to behave yourself around the object of your affections this weekend. If there is a ring on it and you didnt put it there, dont chase it. Odds are that the significant other knows fifty or so friends who would be more than happy to beat you about the head and shoulders for trying to hunt on their lands. Other than that, have a good weekend, and Ill see you all in formation next week. DISMISSED!!!
