Gurvinder Sandher (Sunny) is part of the Kent Equality Cohesion Council, he invited the Community Engagement and Recruitment Team to attend the Vaisakhi Celebration in the Gravesend community and next to the Gravesend Sikh Temple. The Nagar Kirtan Procession would start by travelling along the streets of Gravesend, ending up at the Temple for festivities that included Sikh music, dancing, stalls with traditional clothing, paintings and a small fun fair, with food and soft drinks in abundance (incredibly the food and drink was all free to those in attendance) Sapper Gill as a Sikh Royal Engineer Reserve soldier was in attendance to show the community that the Army Reserves and Regular Army does support the various cultures that are joining the Army, Sapper Gill showed Captain Bill Bailey around the beautiful temple in Gravesend that is the largest in UK. The recruitment team was welcomed into the festival with open arms, individuals of all ages used the equipment that was on the stand, Warrant Officer Cooper and Sergeant Wilcox answered all questions, taking time out to have pictures taken with the local community and showed how some of the equipment worked. Also in attendance was the New Kent Police, Chief Constable Alan Pughsley.
