Gwent Polices resident poet PC Hywel Griffiths is supporting Stonewall Cymrus #NoBystanders Campaign and has penned the following for the occasion: BEEF ABOUT A BULLY There are many different aspects to being a bully, And there aren’t many people who appreciate this fully. Because bullying isn’t just about intimidation and violence; There is nothing much worse than bullying by silence. There are many types of bullying that people may face: At home, at school, or bullying in the workplace. But we can beat this together, if together we stand, Working as one side-by-side, and as one hand-in-hand. Bullying is the misuse of greater power or force, Often against those who simply have no recourse. I intend that to no more bullies will I pander, And I intend to sign up and not be a by-stander. This shouldn’t just be achieved by fighting fire with fire, We should approach this from a standpoint much higher. If we can teach them and show where they’re going wrong, Bullies will see how much easier life is if we all get along. But if any of these bullies still refuse to be taught, They must know that times will become difficult and fraught, And if more people of my experience come forward, Then a sense of achievement shall be our reward.
