THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ILL EVER POST - PLEASE READ AND SHARE Its my 30th in a little under a week! Unfortunately I won’t be home to share it with you, but can’t express how much I want to share a project I’m trying to start over here and ask you to contribute a little wealth for my birthday. For the past few months I’ve been working with the most amazing bunch of kids in a small village on the beautiful Lake Atitlan Guatemala. These kids come from extremely poor families, suffer from chronic malnutrition and without Konjel konojel.org (the organisation I’m working with) would be lucky to receive one meal a day. I have started a photography program, teaching them about the camera, light and the joy it can bring to them and others. These honest smiles and optimistic eyes aren’t always lighting up their faces, they have hard lives, working at a young age, providing for their family and often growing up with drunk or abusive parents, this is an outlet for them to feel human, to feel pride, to express creativity and experience a technology that is normally so far out of reach it may as-well not exist. My idea is to create a self sustainable project that allows them to continue these experiences all of this while creating a income to aid in food and other creative activities. The photos they take are about to be converted into postcards that will be sold throughout the local communities, all profits will go directly to supporting them, funds will be administrated through Konojel the amazing organisation that allowed me to start the program. I need to raise enough money to buy a camera and the first round of postcards, after the first round the sales from the postcards will be enough to continue the program. I don’t need much from you, about $20 from 50 close friends will give this program all it needs to achieve its goals and allow these kids to express themselves creatively, feel pride and generate income! Something that we all take for granted almost everyday. DONATE HERE NOW! bit.ly/1BsnX6t (Konojel is a registered NGO - Donations are completely tax deductible world wide- and also it will make you feel all fuzzy) Much love from me!
