..........................................................HABHI KABHI MEREY DIL MEY KHAYAAL AATA HAI...civil society is the name given to the broad arena which lies beyond the pvt domain of the family.i think its the sphere of active citizenship,indiuals to take u p social issues..try to influence or make demand.....persue their collective demand or seek support for variety f causes......it consists of voluntary org...institutions..trade unions...etc etc The main criteria for inclusion in civil society are that the org shud not be state controlled...and it shud not be a purely commercial profit making entity...thus dd is not a part of civil society thoughpvt channels are....a car mfg. co is not part of civil society bt the trade unions to which its workers belong are,,,,ofcourse these criteria allow for a lot of grey areas....for example.........a newspaper may be run like a purely commercial enterprise,or an NGO may be supported by govt funds......... now question arises that if any org is supported by govt funding......means the money is of gen public... is the org really working for the benefit of the public without appeasement of any particular class...sec...or the org is purely an commercial profit making entity... Nowadays...as a matter of fact it is hard to define a nation in any way other than to say that it is a community that has succeeded in acquiring a state of its own..........where does we stand sofar...........its the duty of civil society and NGOs to rethink and chalk out a plan for the betterment of society............KABHI KABHI MEREY DIL MEY KHAYAAL AATA HAI....
