HAIL PRESIDENT MAHAMA FOR THE FUFULSO - SAWLA ROAD. God, I love - TopicsExpress

HAIL PRESIDENT MAHAMA FOR THE FUFULSO - SAWLA ROAD. God, I love this guy called President John Dramani Mahama; not because of his name but, because he gets what appears impossible on the surface done with such ease. John, you have done what your father could not even do. I almost resigned to the belief that I will not live to travel home from Tamale through Fufulso on a tarred rood. Nkpana, since independence we had John’s father as one of the first Regional Ministers of Northern Region. He did a lot of things, including the establishment of the Vegetable Oil Factory, the relocation and resettlement of Frafras in Gonjaland in Damongo and many more, but he could not get the Fufulso –Sawla road done. We had Colonel Iddissah shortly after the Afrifa-Kotoka coup, and he did not get it done. He was a military man and he was there mainly for security. I know Colonel Iddissah would have got a lot done if he were a regular Politician; because Colonel Iddissah loves Gonjaland. Folks, let’s not forget that we also had J. A. Brimah as Regional Minister and he did nothing too about the road. Next in line was Kpembiwura Kibasibi Haruna and he too turned a blind eye to the Fufulso-Sawla Road. It is true that J. A. Brimah and Mr. Haruna were there for relatively short periods but, they could have at least got the project in the radar and started something. Next in line to be the Northern Region Minister was Alhaji Gilbert Seidu Iddi. Wonders will never end. This guy Gilbert was there almost the longest, and he too concentrated only on Tamale, his brother in-laws and wife’s home town, and neglected Gonjaland and the Fufulso road completely. Under Kuffuor we had Hon Boniface and there was even a talk about the road. Folks, those are five Northern Regional Ministers, spanning over decades since Independence, and none of them could get the road done. Was it coincidence or just pure unsympathetic attitude with the plight of Gonjalanders? Thank God, John has done it now. It is done folks, and we can rest easy now. But, is that enough from John for Gonjaland? No, no, no, no, no, no!!!!! John has just scratched the surface. Gonjaland is still languishing in extreme poverty, because of the absence of Government direct assistance and services. SADA was created to “Accelerate Development” in the North. But as all of you can pay testimony to, it rather ignored and slowed down development in Gonjaland. Folks, don’t forget that the CEO of SADA was none other Alhaji Gilbert Seidu Iddi, the former Regional Minister under Rawlings and a prominent Gonjalander. Folks, let me tell you something. SADA imported over 500 tractors and distributed them in the North to all kinds of people and organizations SADA calls “Service Providers”. Folks, do you know that there was not one single Service Provider in Gonjaland qualified enough in the eyes of Alhaji Iddi to receive a tractor? Folks, out of over 500 tractors, Gonjaland got only one that I know about, and that one went to a guy in Daboya. Folks, if any of you knows of another SADA tractor in Gonjaland, please raise your hand. Nkpana, President John Mahama cannot tell me that he does not know about this unfortunate bullying of Gonjaland by Alhaji Gilbert. Folks, if John is not aware, I am here to tell him squarely in the face that, Gonjaland had only one tractor from SADA. If President John does not know that SADA rather slowed down development in Gonjaland and increased exponentially development in Dagbong and other areas, at the expense of total neglect of Gonjaland, I am here to ask John to open his eyes to the effects of SADA on Gonjaland. Folks, SADA stands for “SAVANAH ACCELERATED DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY” NOT THE AGENCY TO UNDERDEVELOP GONJALAND! However, let’s not give up on John yet. In one year into his first term we have a wonderful road. But that is not all. Since before independence, and through the reigns of all the Gonjaland appointees as Regional Ministers for Northern Region, the Tamale through Daboya to Bunsunu road is still a bottle neck for commerce and development in Gonjaland. Thank God and thank John, the bridge over the Tachali river is complete or almost complete. But, what use will the Tachali Bridge be if you can only get to Daboya and get stranded behind a bigger water way separating the entire Daboya district from civilization? Nkpana, the Daboya River, the Volta River that passes through Daboya, the main obstacle to free transportation and connection to the civilized world from Daboya is still unbridged. Let me tell you something folks. When you go around Ghana, any river that is not bridged has a modern Panton to take people and goods across rivers and water ways. Daboya people are still using canoes made long before my father was even born, to cross the river with their goods and people to Tamale. What a shame, John. We cannot wait to get this Daboya Bridge in your radar, John. So Gonjalanders, still we have a lot to be thankful for now. We also have it in our power to renew our commitment to this our only Son of Gonja, the Prince of Peace of Gonja, the President who listens and knows what every sector of Ghana deserves and distributes generously. Should we lose any hope? No, no, no, I know John gets it and will get with it. We just need to keep reminding him. Nkpana, John will only get to it quickly if we can afford him support, and above all create peace and harmony in Gonjaland. Next is the question of political appointees. Recently, a prominent Gonjaland politician and political appointee himself told me that Gonjaland Political Appointees to serve in John’s regime do not matter. In other words, political appointees who are Gonjalanders are not needed in John’s government. What good is John then, if we cannot get space in the corridors of power? Tell me political appointees don’t matter; how then can discussions be generated, decisions taken for Gonjaland and on behalf of Gonjaland, when Gonjaland has no representative at the table of decision making and power? Yes, political appointees don’t matter; why then did Kuffuor appoint his brother and sister as Minister of Defense and Ambassador respectively, plus several Ashantis to positions of power? I wished John would appoint Peter Mahama as the Minister of Agriculture, Alfred Mahama as the Minister of Commerce, Ibrahim Mahama as the Minister of Lands and Mineral Resources, Afisah Mahama as the Minister of Communications, and so on and so forth. It is the turn of the Mahama Family too. Mahama Tingbani would have eaten his heart out, hahahahaha. Yes, political appointees don’t matter; what else matters when Kwame Nkrumah declared that “Give onto us this political Kingdom and everything else shall be added onto it”. Yes, political appointees don’t matter indeed; what happened to the people of North West Region, Wa Region, when Kuffuor declared that he could not find one single person in Northwest Region qualified to be in his Cabinet? Folks, Dagartis and Wallas are some of very well educated, excellent entrepreneurs, politically astute and brilliant Community organizers in Ghana politics. I am sure you all remember Dombo, and you all remember the famous Madam Asana of Wa under Kwame Nkrumah. Nkpana, I surely hope President John is not adopting those same stances about Gonjalanders. We have very competent, knowledgeable and experienced talents in Gonjaland and we deserve better. Yes, political appointees matter, my friends. The only way you can get political considerations in terms of development and infrastructure building for your people is to be represented at the “Table of Political Appointees”. Let me give you just one example of such neglect by President John Mahama. On my own count, John has appointed at least FIFTEEN (15) Dagombas into various political positions with influence and decision making powers. Compared to the vast Gonjaland, John has only there; yes only three Gonjalanders. Are Dagombas the only people in Northern Region? To add insult onto injury, we have one of the longest serving MPs in Ghana from Gonjaland. He is called Hon. Amadu Seidu. He was an MP long before John even contemplated to run for the Bole MP seat. The irony of it is that, I personally heard one Gonjaland Politician mocking Hon Amadu Seidu. He said this man Hon Amadu Seidu is the longest serving MP in Ghana Parliament today, yet he is not even a high ranking member of the Parliamentary Committee on which he serves. My answer to John and all those who mock Hon Amadu Seidu is that: Yes, all because of you John and the NDC apparatus. Folks, Joyce Bawa is a Deputy Minister and cheers for that. Hon Amadu Seidu has ten times more experience and political expediency than Joyce. Don’t get me wrong, I love Joyce and happy she has her position but, what about Hon Amadu Seidu? When I was in Ghana last year, the person I had the opportunity to observe carefully as he goes about his duties as MP is Hon Amadu Seidu. I visited him in his office in Buipe. I observed him rallying the people of Yapei to support SADA programs (even though there was nothing for them to support except SADA production of “squash” for Eastern Europe). I observed him go from village to village trying to salvage the remaining cramps of Government support available in his constituency. He never lost hope, never discouraged people of his constituency, and never gave up on campaigning and propping up support for, and uplifting the name of President John Mahama. Such are the MPs Gonjaland deserves. What do you think Hon Amadu Seidu’s participation in actual corridors of power would have been for the advancement of Gonjaland? It would have been tremendous. John, take a hard look at Hon Amadu Seidu again. If past regimes have neglected him, please you John dare not relegate him to obscurity. Yes, political appointees for Gonjalanders matter tremendously. We are all watching, and the enthusiasm for John’s re-election campaign encompasses all these issues. There are many more “Hon Amadu Seidus” in Gonjaland; waiting, wasting; rotting; being neglected and trampled upon in the arena of the “Battle for Political Appointments”. Folks, during the Nkrumah rule there was some guy called Hon Krobo Edusei. He had only third grade education. But, he was a fierce liberation and freedom fighter with Kwame Nkrumah. Krobo Edusei was an excellent community organizer, a wonderful campaigner and a staunch supporter of Kwame Nkrumah in Ashanti. But, he was lacking a little bit in formal education. Folks that did not stop Kwame Nkrumah from recognizing Krobo Edusei’s special talents. Kwame Nkrumah created a special Cabinet Ministry/position just for Krobo Edusei. He was Kwame Nkrumah’s “Minister without Portfolio”. Nkpana, even that post has eluded Hon Amadu Seidu; yes John has denied him that privilege. There are many more Amadu Seidus lurking in the hidden wilderness of Gonjaland. Do we need to start a campaign for fund raising to buy political appointments for deserving and qualified Gonjalanders? It appears that is one last alternative left for Gonjalanders, if even John, our only hope, is continuing to neglect our cries. After all, one good friend of mine told me that “Uncle Dee, political appointments are for sale and Gonjalanders do not have enough cash to bid for those auctions.” No my friend, a Gonjalander is the President and only Parliament can veto his appointments. John can do better in this arena. My only consolation is that John is a slow starter. When he gets going, no one can stop him as he did with the Fufulso – Sawla road. That is why John needs eight years. That is why Gonjalanders should support him, vote for him, campaign for him, be outstanding citizens and everything else shall be added onto this Political Kingdom now firmly in John’s hands. Yes, seven more years for John to catch up with Gonjaland. Nkpana, let’s now talk about Gonjaland flood victims. John knows them personally and John knows about the devastation these victims went through. It is not the first time Gonjalanders have been caught in this environment of harsh realities. The Akosombo dam brought untold misery to Salaga area, all the way from Yeji. Yes, my dear friend, the late Habib Jawula, led the charge to get compensation for these victims. He did succeed to receive compensations, but he failed to render comfort and restoration to the flood victims. He shared it among his brothers and relatives, gave Abbott, the then Yagbongwura, one tractor and then invested the rest in his now defunct company, JALCO. Folks, my ex and late teacher in the middle school, Mr. Fuseini Sulemana, told me that in the Kpembi area, JALCO stood for “Ji Amaseribi Libi Company”; a very appropriate name indeed. (Hajia Fati Jawula, sorry, you know I love you and my late friend Habib; but the truth is the truth and there is no secret under sun). Folks, today history is about to repeat itself one more time. For the present flood victims in Daboya, Kusawgu, Buipe and Tulwe areas, another Jawula, Lepowura Nurideen Jawula, together with the present Yagbongwura’s Secretary, Affuli, are leading the charge to secure compensation for these Gonjaland flood victims. Yes, they are indeed. However, this message is to John, our President. The Yagbongwura has demanded that 30% of the compensations be paid directly to his personal bank accounts before even a single victim is compensated. Yes, that is the Yagbongwura’s demand or command. WHO DARE HIM!!! Who does he think he is and why should he get even a penny of the compensation? Folks, as we know, another Jawula is involved, and I remember he got an Audi brand new car as one of his presents from his senior brother Habib. This time he is in the thick of things and only God knows what he will cut for himself out of the compensations. Then, plus the corrupt Affuli. Wow! Gonjaland flood victims are in for a lesson of a life time with these “THREE BONIFIED CROOKS OF GONJALAND -- LEPOWURA NURIDEEN, THE YAGBONGWURA & AFFULI”. These things are happening under the very watchful eyes of President John Mahama. John, if you did not know that, now you know. Step in, stop them, ensure justice for the flood victims and move Gonjalanders ahead. Recently, Major Mahama Tara handed over cheques to victims of Government eminent domain that affected businesses in and around the Nsawan area. For God’s sake, Major Tara did not make the cheques in the name of the Nsawam Chief nor did he give 30 percent of the cheques value to the Chief of Nsawam. President John Mahama, why will you watch Gonjalanders suffer such gross exploitation and abuse in the hands of the Yagbongwura, Affuli and Lepowura Nurideen? Gonjaland flood victims are counting on you John, to bring relief to them, and restore some justice for these Gonjaland flood victims. These are all issues that will impact the 2016 elections, John! Next! Folks, what about the road from Tamale through Daboya to Bunsunu? What about it? Well, in addition to the bridge over the Daboya river, we also need a motor able road from Tamale through Daboya to Bunsunu; the President’s mother’s home town. Sometimes I wonder if John is really aware that his mother is from Bunsunu. Yes John, your mother is from Bunsunu and the people of Bunsunu are so proud of you. You must show appreciation and also let them be continuously proud of you. Therefore, the road from Bunsunu, through Daboya, over a newly constructed bridge over the Daboya river is all your mother is asking for; not much at all to ask from her son. You see, Alhaji Gilbert Iddi, when he was Northern Regional Minister, tarred the road from Tamale to Tolon, and left the Gonjaland area undone. What a Gonjaland appointee. John, this time we are not settling for piece meal shoddy job on the road. We are demanding a first class road from Tamale through Daboya to Bunsunu, and a first class bridge over the Daboya River. These two are as liked together as Mankuma identical twins. Last but not least concern for Gonjalander is this: PRESIDENT JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA, YOU ARE TOO FAT!!! Recently, I had a conversation with one of John’s nieces in the US here and she told me that John is so fat he can hardly breathe after walking a quarter of a mile. Let me tell you this truism today John. We need you very badly for the next seven years as our President. John, listen to me. President Clinton and Bush both jogged a lot to keep slim and fit. President Barako Obama plays an hour of basketball every morning and evening to keep fit and trim. President Putin of Russia rides horses, skis, and does Karate to keep fit and trim. What do you do John, to keep fat and sloppy; just eat and eat and eat? John, we are praying to God daily for longevity in life for you, at least to finish your remaining seven years. We do not want you to die now. So John, do something for your health; YOU ARE TOO FAT!!! CAUTION: If you disagree with my opinions and agitations, please respond in the forum where you read my opinions. Do not write personal emails to me complaining about John, behind his back. If you do I will forward your critique and concerns to John, and also publish your email just as I did for Mahama Tingbani. Folks, my role is described in Gonja, literally as, “BITE & FAN”!!! God bless John, God Bless Gonjaland, God Bless Ghana and Africa, and I wish you a Happy Damba.
