HAPPY FREDDIE FOR A DAY 2014!! For those who do not know, today September 5th, is Freddie Mercurys birthday. The frontman for Queen and one of the greatest voices and performers the world has and will ever see, Freddie died of AIDS complicated pneumonia in 1991. Now, Freddies birthday has become a communal day of the celebrating Freddies life, but also a fundraising effort called Freddie For A Day. Dress up like Freddie, sing his songs, or just be fabulous to raise awareness (and hopefully money) for The Mercury Phoenix Trust (mercuryphoenixtrust/), which was established in order to raise money to battle HIV/AIDS and raise awareness about the disease that has taken countless precious lives from us aside from Freddie. This year I am in Bombay, India for FFAD, and how fitting, for it was in this city that Freddie, then known as Farokh Bulsara, began fine tuning his love for music. So join me around the world and live a little fabulously, darlings! Dress, up play Queen all day, grow a mustache in a day - whatever! Obviously donations are ideal, but simply getting awareness out is one step in the right direction in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
